New to the site but have been all over trying to get help with this and you guys seemed the most knowledgable,I know that it has been beaten to death but I have a 96 4dr XLT and already have the 3.0/1.5 procomp spindle /add a leaf kit coming.I'm planning on also adding a 2" shackle and doing a TT to get around 5" overall. Is this going to be enough to clear some 33x12.50's?????if not what else is needed without having to do a body lift or alot if any trimming? Also will I need to mess with the driveshaft length or brake lines with this much lift?I'm currently in Iraq and already have the truck in the shop and am trying to get it finished before I return home in July, any help you guys could give would be really great:us::salute:

This is a thread that has a list of lift sizes and tire sizes

im not trying to sound like an ass but if you know something has been "beaten to death" do a search first and I bet you will have your question answered the search button is at the top of the page. Im just trying to help a new guy out

Been on here for days!

I have been all through the search threads looking for similar aplications and found many but most guys are running BL and I am trying to avoid this if at all possible while still being able to run the 33's.I just wanted to ensure that I have the right gear and how to raise the rear end to the needed height.

To answer your question on drivelines, no your rear driveshaft will be fine. You should be fine clearing 33s (look up username Carlover I think he used to have a similar setup).

Thanks for your service, welcome aboard.

you can't run 33X12.50's with just TT and shackles without insane trimming. trust me, I tried. I trimmed mine a whole lot and put a 2 inch body lift and i still rub the inside of my fenders. We all know body lifts are lame but you have no choice unless you have the money right now for a SAS, RCD lift, or some custom coilover setup. oh and explorers hide body lifts very well. so no worries good luck

*edit- oops didn't see u were aal and spindle. so in that case you are g2g but you'll prob still rub. didn't know you could run spindles w/o 2wd. if u are 2wd crank those torsion bars up till they snap

I just talked to a company who is going to make me a custom leafpack at 5" for the rear, now I should just have to install my spindles and do my TT and be about good.Does anybody know if the shocks that came with the procomp spindle/aal kit be big enough or are any good, also on the rims what is the back spacing I need on 15x8 with 33x12.50x15 I have everything except my rims and ties ordered, looking to go with the procomp's and a nice Black offroad rim
