I have been wanting to put bed liner on my roof of my 01 sport for quite some time now and thought that I might as well go ahead and do the bumpers and trim to match. I will probably do this project within the next couple of weeks. I'll just buy some Herculiner since they're about $75 a gallon on amazon. Does anyone know how I should prep the plastic parts? I was told a good rise and some alcohol should be fine. What about sealing the liner? I have heard adding a layer of clear will help it last, but what kind of clear? would a regualr spray can of clear work? Any input helps. Thank you.

You can save yourself some time and money and just use Krylon Fusion or some equivalent on the plastic. No special prep needed (other than a good cleaning) and it's made to stick to plastic.

Make sure to prep the painted surfaces too. I've had rubberized undercoating peel off after a few months.
