Hey all,

Here are some before and after pics of my amp. It is an Alpine 3552. When I got it it was in pretty bad shape as far as looks. It was nicked and chipped pretty bad, and I couldnt stand to see it like that.

It also has one problem....the fuse link is pretty screwed up. I dont know how in the world it got messed up how it did, but when I got it the fuse was melted inside, and I had to get pliers and yank it out. The slots are fused together, not just bent together, they are actually melted together. I took the whole amp apart (Alpine sure doesnt want you to take them apart, with all the screws holding it together  ) to see if there was any internal damage, and there wasnt any visible damage, like on my old MTX amp that caught on fire and melted the board. I know some people who say they can fix amps, so I'm gonna talk to them and see how good they really are and have them check the rest of it out so I dont have any further problems. Sorry for the blurry pic, I still havent found a good close up setting on my camera.

hey, thats a pretty nice job you did cleaning that up :)

excellent job what kind of paint did you use? i have a fosgate amp that is silver and would like to paint it black to match my other 2. i have to say that thing looks brand new.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I cant remember, but I think I used a can of Krylon High Temp stuff that you use of grilles and things that often get heated up. Then I ran out so I got some regular flat black Krylon.

looks good Grant
