Who makes the best 4" coil spring for a first gen Ex? I am currently looking at Tuff Country and Skyjacker. I am looking for a good combination of flex and ride. I like the two listed above because they are pre-set so hopefully they won't sag too much.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

From what I understand, Skyjacker springs, at least their six inch ones, sag down to 4 and a halfish.. But maybe someone else can confirm this to be true with the 4s as well. /shrug

yeah my buddy had them and in like a year his 6 inch skyjacker was the same as my 4 inch roughcountry...

When you did your SPOA, did you get 5.5" of lift right away, or did you have to adjust with AALs or shackles due to spring sag? How many miles on your '94? I was thinking I'd get more like 4.5" with the spring sag on my '94 (170k miles or so). However, if I'm going to get a true 5.5" of lift in the rear, I might consider a 5.5" or 6" spring in the front.

Thanks.

i actually got about 6 inch from the spoa....i used a 4 inch kit with the 1.5 inch spacers in the front and the spoa in the rear and the rear is just a touch higher....and the truck has 250.000k on it...i used nuthing for the rear other than the spoa.....my truck used to have the ass end sag so i thought i would need to use a shackel or get the springs rearched to match the front but it turned out really well...i can send u a few pics if u want.....

pro comp makes a 4" spring as well , been installed for over 2 years now and no real noticable drop at all.

When you say 4" kit, I assume you mean 4" drop brackets of some kind? Were you able to align the truck in that configuration? I assume that eccentric bushings were probably required (like a 2" lift with no drop brackets.)

I'd love to see pics. I'll PM you with an email address.

Thanks,

I like Pro Comp. How do they ride/flex?

Thanks,

It rides rather decently , still a truck though so it aint no luxury ride. I was supprised witht he amount of flex i got out of it. I did take some accidental air and creased the fenders when the tires got stuffed in. 32inch tires did not rub after the lift was installed , now after my brilliant move they rub at full lock left.
