I need to do a upper overhaul of my 4.0, I plan to replace the rocker/pushrod to hopefully kill the ticking and replace all gaskets as I go.
So, I want to get the good gaskets, I know felpro is good, but I get nothing when I try to enter the truck in their website, so I am guessing they have discontinued them. I also dont want to pay a fortune at Autozone, they jack the price way up. I have seen these cheapo sets on ebay, how bad are these?
Does anyone know of any other decent gaskets for the X? Thanks!

Motorcraft are the best, but the price is outragous.

I'll second that notion. Motorcraft gaskets are by far the better gaskets, and they are an upgraded material from the original so that the leak does not come back. I am getting ready to do the lower intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets on my X, (luckily no valve clatter issues) and I have decided that I would rather install the best the first time and be done then have to tear everything apart again the replace cheap gaskets. Hope this helps:)

Use the factory gaskets, or if someone makes a better valve cover gasket(steel/rubber), that. 302's have the option to use steel/rubber valve cover gaskets, those can last forever and not leak ever. Good luck,

The cover gaskets that come with Felpro head kit ($105)are the same crummy cork ones that leaked on mine. However, Felpro does make a real nice set that can be purchased seperately made of a couple rubber beads on a metal outline. They look good at any rate.

There you go, Felpro is a premier maker of gaskets.

Thanks everybody, I will check the Motorcrafts out, and I will check out the felpro. I am trying to think of each gasket I will need:
Throttle body to intake
Iac valve to intake
Upper and lower plenum gaskets
Intake valley gaskets ( which I already have)
Valve cover gaskets
Injector o-rings ( might as well while I am at it)

I dont plan to remove the heads, mine dont leak so I will try to leave them alone, then I will have to buy the head gaskets, have the heads machined, and the bolts replaced.
Problem with buying the gaskets I need, is that you have to buy sets and get gaskets I dont need.

The stock ford metal valve cover gaskets are horrible. I replaced them with some felpros and they are many times better. Other than that the factory ones seem to be good.
