I need to lift my 94, xlt 4wd as much as i can, for as cheap as i can. I have nearly completely ruled out the body lift option. Where can i find a cheap, suspension lift giving me 2-4 inches. I dont have much cash to spare, and i'd like to be able to do it myself. What're my options ?

why have you ruled out a body lift option? That coupled with a TT/Shackle combination would get you close to 5 inches of lift for pretty cheap.

.. A 94 does not have torsion bars..;)

yeah right after i posted that i realized that you were in the '91-'94 section, sorry about that.

rough country makes some pretty inexpensive suspension lifts for the first gens. ive seen problems with their kits on jeeps and explorers, directly related to price. If you plan to do any serious wheeling buying the cheapest lift may not be the best idea.

I got 2.75" lift from a set of used F150 springs. To align it, go with the MOOG 4 degree cams. I used 3* and it wasn't enough. Then I made my own shackles for the rear. Springs were $5 each from pull a part, and the flat stock for the shackles was $10 (I think), and the 4* camber bushings are $45 each. Figure another $100 for alignment, add $30 for new bolts and hardware, that's $230. for almost 3" lift.
I am running 32s now, but have plenty of room for more tire. If I were to do it agina I probably would have used 4" lift springs for a CJ.

I think it may be better for you to wait till you have the money for a good lift, because after that you'll want tires, and so it goes on. Waiting is always cheaper in the long run. :)
