Ford and Ferarri have a LONG history of hatred towards each other. Ferarri was once for sale, Ford was the buyer with DEEP pockets. At the last minute Ferarri backed out, and stayed privately owned. Thus emerged the 100% Ford Financed race teams of the mid-60's, lead by Carrol Shelby. They were told, in no uncertain terms by Henry Ford II, that they have 1 mission and 1 mission alone, to DESTROY the Italians in their own arena....And they did. For 4 straight years, Ferarri didn't get a single championship in ANY race series those years.
