Best System for under $500 !!!

Ok fellas & fello chicks out there, let's see who can come up with the best "bang" for the buck. Let's keep this realistic and hopefully there are real X's out there that have pictures of their set up. What I am looking to have posted here is: 1. Amp(s) -good wattage to power subs adequately 2. Sub(s) 3. Mid Range speakers. List the price break down for each item. Do not include cost of installation.

Let's try to keep these good quality stuff too =) If you want to go all out, post pics of your set up. Let's get creative!!

I don't have any pics of my set up, but I do have some suggestions for your system. Best Buy has pioneer 5x7s for like $69 a pair that are custom fit for the explorer/navajos, put those in the front and rear, and run them of a this sony HU: Sony CDX-CA400. That should give you a lot of sound right there. As for bass, I'd go with one MTX or Rockford 10" in a ported box run off a 200 watt amp. MTX and Rockford both make excellent amps.

Thanks for your suggestions. I just bought the Kenwood KDC519 Model, it has 50 watts x 4 of total power, pre-outs for adding power amps. is that deck enough to run the pioneer 5x7s ? Or will i need an additional amp?

I just installed a Pioneer that states it is 4x52 and I also have the Pioneer 2-way 6x8's only in the front doors at this time. Very happy with the results......for now.

Buy a 4 gage wiring kit instead of 8 gage. You may need it in the future if you ever want to install a second amp.

I got 2 10" Subs at bestbuy. $99 for both.
RFZ3810 400 watt Rockford Fosgate Punch Z 10" 8 ohm

I got the 8 ohms so I had to wire in parell which brings the speaker ohms down to 4 ohms.

I don't have any pictures of mine setup yet.

The stuff I have so far is in my sig. So far it has cost me about $325 including harnesses and other supplies. About $280 for the HU and speakers. Good sounding setup so far. I think I will have about another $250 into it. So I'm alittle more than $500.

I say you should wait for more spending money, so you dont regret spending 500 bucks on sub par Sound. Just alittle more money could get you what you want and more.

I am going to this local place here in the bay area. Friend of mine scored big time there. He got 2 -R.F. 12" HE Punch 400W max power subs, a pair of R.F. 6x9's, 2 Kohler (sp?) amps, 1-two channel and 1-four channel, i forget the wattage i know they are over 300. He also got the R.F. sealed box that goes with the subs. He got all that for about $800 cash. So I am going there tomorrow to pick out some stuff and i know if i bring $500 cash I can get a decent setup.

Yea dont rush it SAVE SAVE SAVE you will get all that for $500 and than after a week you'll be like damn this isnt loud and even worse you hear someones else system and your like oh my god mine sucks. I see it happen all the time friend spends $1000 and than hears someone elses who just blows them away and they dont like there stuff anymore. It's taken me 8 months and counting to do mine.

Yeah the really good systems take awhile to plan.... its never like someone with 3 grand just walked into a store one day and was like as long as its and system and goes under 3 grand I will take it. Total cost of my system was..... 550 sub, 420 amp, 370 HU, 130 changer, 620 for box+custom amp kit (they had to do some crap different for where it is placed) +custom armrest install for changer.

2090 If my math doesnt fail me, and I am not done by far... Need another 800 for components, amps, custom tweeter crap.. You know.. Its gonna be about 3 grand and thats before I might wanna get another W7 and amp which would mean another box and maybe a new amp for the orginal w7 another 1500-1800 for sure.

Yeah I hear ya guys, I just need something right now because I am used to having beat in my cars. My previous car I had all bose speakers and had kicker 12" subs with an amp, so now that my stock sub went out of my explorer, its killing me =\ I can't stand the sound of just the front speakers.

Dont trust e-bay tooo much.. There are a lot of punks on there trying to steal your money. Check their history and check with the people who bought things like you are looking for from that seller..... AND DO NOT buy from people with like 1 sell and sunglasses, (sunglasses means they changed their ebay name for some reason.

Try carmedia1.com , they've got excellent prices. I havn't delt with them yet so i don't know about service but their prices are awsome.

carmedia1.com just ordered from them. They are very slow call and see if they have to special order it first. I dont know why they show it like they have it there and than tell you when you order oh you have to wait 10 days for us to recieve it to ship to you. Im scheduled to get my stuff july 14. Prices are good though if you want to wait.
