Best way to clean forgotten white walls?

If you're really that concerned with damaging the finish on the wheels:

1) Have the tires removed from the rims.
2) Clean the tires.
3) Have them reinstalled with the white lettering out.


You had to do steps 1 + 3 anyway...

What I ended up doing was the SOS pads, Comet, and water method, and it turned out amazing!!!! only downside is that when scrubbing you really go through the SOS pads, as they break down, other then that it worked awesome. I wish I had befores, but I don't, but I do have afters! Before you could barely tell that it was white, sort of a dark grey in color.
