Are BFG Long Trial respectible tires(both on and off road)? I don't really want to dish out the dough for All Terrain or Goodyear Wranglers.

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Though I haven't really tried them, I'd say you'd be sacrificing offroad performance. Even though I thought my Wrangler RT/Ss were decent offroad, it was a night and day difference when I went to the BFG ATs. And these Long Trails are less aggressive than the RT/Ss. BTW, the RT/Ss are cheaper at TireRack.com than the Long Trails.

I have the LT's on now and as far as on-road goes, they are incredible.

Quite, soft, great grip in wet and snow, and reasonably prices as well.

As for off-road, I can't say as I don't do anything more than dirt. If dirt is what you consider off-road (ha!), they do great.

Hope this helps,

Ry.

I have the Long trail on mine, they were the recall replacement. They are great for driving in lots of rain. They feel good on the road and corner pretty good as well. If you go off road once in a while and no too hard core, I am sure they would be ok. I was going to put on some BFG AT, but these tires are brand new and I couldn't justify spending that kind of money right now.

I also have the Long Trails as the recall replacement.
Worst tire I have ever had on a vehicle. Lots of tread left after 2 years, but lost there grip very quickly, front end slids on damp/wet roads, rear tires have absolutely no bite. Have to feather the throttle on light snow or greasy roads.
Wish I had the old Wilderness tires back. They had more bite with 50,000 miles on them than the L/t's with 30,000.
My advice is to find anything else.

Does anyone have any advice on GoodYear Wrangler AT/S? The tread is a tad less aggressive the BFG AT's but still nice. Any comments?

I was between those and the BFG ATs, and I'm sure glad I went with the BFGs. However, I've heard the Wranger AT/S is a good tire, and my RT/Ss were fairly good (for a stock tire).

I don't have any experience with the Wranglers, but I do have a set of BFG A/T's on a Bronco. They are excellent tires, both on road and off, and good in the snow.
