I got a question... I plan on putting on larger diameter tires (33") and know I need to change the gear ratio to do so since I've got the 3.26 gears unfortunatly, but do I need to change the gears in the front differential also, since I'm not constantly driving in 4 wheel drive, or can I get away with only changing the gears in the back? Also who is a good supplier for the parts to do the job? I found a place online that has the gears for my 8.8 in the back of my truck, but not knowing whats in the front it's hard to find info on changing gears. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you ever plan on putting it in 4wd, even accidentally, you have to change both gear sets. If not you will bind up the drivetrain and most likely break something.

Do your regear before you lift it. You can regear to 4.10 ratio and run a 31-inch tire, until you are ready for 33s and lift.

Thanks for the info. Still requiring a re-gear though I figured I might as well go all out the first time around. Would there be any problems running 4.56 or 4.88 gears on 245/75/15 tires? Also if I have an 8.8 in the back end of my truck, does that mean I have that in the front too?

You have a D 35 reverse cut in the front. I dont know the diameter, but I have 33s with 4.56 and it is as low as I would go and still drive it on the road. It is great on the trail.
