Bigger better front brake package?

I have a '98 XLT 4x4 and the front brakes are inadequate when towing. I heard somewhere that the 2000 Explorer with the tow package have better brakes. Is this true? Does anyone know of another source for a better brake package? I have 16" wheels.

I have 98 5.0v8 explorer which i use to tow my 3500 pound boat. ive found that the front brakes do suck. but what i did was put larger aftermarket brake pads on and it does the trick

Have you checked out the "Explorer Resources" section, off the home page? There is a company call Advanced Rotor Technologies that sells Cryogenically treated /slotted performane brake rotors and pads that are supposed to last and work better than the stock. Dead Link Removed
