Ideally, I'd love to have side mirrors like the ones on an Excursion or a dually F-series. (Two arms holding the bigger mirror, arrows behind the glass, and forward-facing marker lights...you get the idea.) Anyone done anything close to this or have a good idea of how to make those mirrors fit this body-style explorer? I'm still in the brain-storming faze and no money's been spent on it yet, so feel free to throw some ideas out there. Also, weighing the money issue, junkyard vs. just buying the mirrors somewhere? If anyone knows were I can get these for a good price, that'd help too. Thanks everybody.

Those are a tad big, I think it would be very difficult to impossible to mount them properly.
IMO, too big for the explorer... but then again.. would look kinda nifty if you had a lift and huge tires, could even benefit from these mirrors... If you manage to do this, definitly keep us updated.. sounds like one hell of a project.

So far this is the best deal I can find on the mirrors, though I'm not sure if they have the arrows behind the glass too...http://www.1aauto.com/1A/Mirrors/Ford/Excursion/1AMRP00105/658812
Anyone else come up w/ anything?
I'm also looking for measurements of the mounting area, etc. for these mirrors, to match up with my ex. Also, what's the quickest way to take remove and attach these things? Does the entire interior door panel have to come off, or is there a shortcut I should know about? Thanks again.

I still have the stock mirrors from my super duty not the pull out style but for sure bigger than explorer

Searching a junkyard you would most likely find the best deal, and before even taking them you could get some measurements and make sure the mirrors have all the features you're looking for.
