Hey guys,

Not sure if this is the right place to go or not. But i have a 2000 mountaineer AWD v8. and i am looking to lift it not major about 2-4 inches just to get some 31" tires maybe 33" tires if i feel brave. But i was just talking to this one shop and the guys who was kinda blowing me off and not willing to look around too much for me lift wise. said that if i lift it and put bigger tires on the AWD that it will blow the transfer case out... Is this true? or is the guy just being a jerk and trying to blow me off because he doesnt have an exact fit for the mountaineer? (they specialize in jeeps mostly based off there website)

Thanks guy just looking into stuff before i start building

You can do 31s with a set of shackles and a torsion twist in the front. For 33s, you'd probably need a body lift. You won't blow the t-case unless you have mismatched size tires front & rear. The one thing you'll probably run into is needing ball joints and a set of camber adjusters once you do a torsion twist in the front. Torsion twist is basically cranking on a bolt to raise the front end.

OKay yea i kind of thought he was being missleading. I am going to do the shackles. and the Torsion bars then because that seems to be the easiest way to do what i want. and then run some 31's
