Black 16" rims with 265/75s

i think it would look better with the factory caps.

but you can use a large o ring to fill the gap on the 68mm ones, ive done that before it will press in perfect, if you try a sleave odds are it will click one turning, i had some weld wheels do that once drove me nuts.

I've found the right sized ones - they're the same ones that are on my CSA Haze 17x8s. But the o-ring trick is handy to know too. I don't like the factory caps as they stick out too far, but they are my ultimate fallback.

That's not what you mean is it? Or are you going to paint them black as well?

Yep, that's what I mean, but just the very centre bit; it comes away from the other cover piece.

OH!! ok... I thought you meant the entire center piece...
yeah, that sounds better.

looks like that might attach with a screw though so it may be hard to get to attach and remain flush.

looks good

Nah, they just click in. I already have a set for my other wheels - they have 6 plastic tabs on them that hold them in.

good deal just wanted to look out, with the overpricing of center caps now a days.

Put the rear rims on so far today, but had to come in to dinner. Anyway, here's a couple of crappy phone camera shots of progress so far (I am adding some rubber mudflaps too, as the original plastic ones cracked and broke so I took them off ages ago):

Nice work, but should take the clear original coat of your rims first.

Thanks Simon - I scuffed the clear coat with a scourer, which is all I've needed to do when painting previous wheels, and never had an issue.

Fronts are now done too.

Will get some better photos later on today (once the sun comes up!).

Those turned out pretty sweet man!

Post some follow-up pics in a few months to show us how they are holding up!

Hey just curious about the center caps you used.

I want to get rid of the large, chrome, lug nut covers on mine and can't find anything like what you have.

Can you point me to where you got them or did you just have them sitting around?

Thanks!

I had them sitting around. They are actually off an XD Falcon (Australian model), and I cut them down to fit. You may be able to do something similar with Crown Vic centre caps.
