blew out my rear end on my 93'x the local jk has a 00' and 98' complite rear end 4.10. was wondering if it would work on my stock 93' are they stil sua? what mod would have to be made. and was it the sensor thing in my rear end now? that for abs brakes?

i would like the 4.10 and disk brakes. but dont know if it will work.
thanks,

It would work but if you have a 4WD, you'll need to swap gear ratios to 4.10.. I believe in the 98 and above the VSS is in the rear axle so you may need be fine.. If your 2wd, then your fine, you won't have to do anything.

i do have 4wd. sry i didnt add that. what do you mean by swap gear ratios to 4.10

You'll have to either find 4.10 gears for the front D35 TTB or swap the 4.10 gears to your existing rear 8.8 gear ratio.

so say i get the axle from the jk. its a 98'x with 4.10. i would have to change my front axle gear to match? ,(say i dont use the 4wd will that mater?)or pull the gears from the jk axle and put in my existing rear 8.8? sry im just not catching on all the way

You would need to change your ring & pinion to 4.10 to match if you go to the junk yard 8.8. Since your 4wd, you need the same gearing.. I can't remember on 1st gens if the front diffy spins even with the hubs unlocked but if it isn't, your fine as long as you don't shift it into 4wd. Unfortunately from the factory a D35TTB was not available in 4.10 so you would have to pull the ring & pinion.

ok. thats what i thought you ment. sry. ne1 know if the front diff spins even with the hubs unlocked. i just want to fix he rear asap. and deal with matching the front later. i just need this thing on the road fast. for it is my edd.

you'd have to look at the code on your drive door or the axle itself: Hope this helps ya.

The ratios are not determined by the trim package.

Axle codes on the inside door panel:

41 - 3.27 non-limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
45 - 3.55 non-limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
46 - 3.73 non-limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
42 - 4.10 non-limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
D1 - 3.27 limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
D4 - 3.73 limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)
D2 - 4.10 limited slip (Explorer/Mountaineer)

thanks guys. come to be ii have 3.73. went to the jk and just bought the rear axle for my 93x from a 93x. so i wouldnt have to mess with switching all gears to 4.10.

i think pretty soon im just gona buy the summitracing rear disk brake kit also

thanks for all the help

dont but the summit rear disk kit, 95 and up expo's already have disks. You can run it wthout changing the front with the idea that if you do use 4x4 with different ratios you will destroy your driveline.

You can find Dana 35 TTB fronts with 4.10 gears. Your best bet would be from a Ranger.

ok/ thanks guys. i havent done any trhing to the rear yet. so sence the truck it not moving for a while. think i should just get 4.10 and then find ranger 4.10 for the front?

could i just buy the d35 4.10 ring and pinion from summit and put that in my explorer front? or would i have to buy the whole ranger front axle.

im goin to get manule hubs soon: say if i leave the hubs unlocked and had 4.10 in rear and stock up front. then go ino 4wheel that wont mess up the drivetrain right?

Make the D35 gears are reverse rotation.

i found some 4.10 gears for my front d35 ttb. i need reverse rotation right?
just makeing sure they are the right ones before i get them,

if they are then im gona get the 95x rear axle with the 4.10 and disk brakes build that. then swap it in.

these 33's are waiting to be put on:)
