I have an automatic 98' XLT that was shifted from "Auto" to "4wd lo" and driven 1/3 mi. in deep snow, then switched out of "lo" into "high". However, the vehicle wasn't put in neutral when going into "high. So now the 4wd hi & lo dash lights blink, and it drives as it's still in 4lo. So I engaged & disengaged 4wd Lo properly, by depressing the brake and putting it in neutral before engaging, as the dealer and manual instructs. This didn't work, and when I talked with a ford dealership service tech., off the top of his head he though it was the switch motor? Anyone, had a similar issue, or advice? Thanks so much for any input and my chance to post.
