Block Off Heater Hoses?

My '93's heater hoses feel hot with the heater off and AC running. I wonder if the AC is having to work against heat in the heater box?

I don't know enough about the innards of the dashboard even to know if that's a possible conflict.

This truck does dump more condensation than any car I've seen, even in steamy Dallas.

Make sure that you have a heater control valve, and that it is closed. The early Explorers didn't have one, that 93 is about when they started them. Check the vacuum at that control valve, it should shut the valve when the AC is on. Good luck,
