It looks as bad as mine unfortnately. To really clean them out you must remove the basket filters, and the caps. Then soak them in fuel injector cleaner for max effect. I did the same thing before - using carb cleaner I ended up buying one injector. I need one more coz on one of the injectors - the cap broke it turned brittle. In this severe case of fuel injector clogging we need a mechanical way of cleaning them - one machine I know is using high frequency sound waves to clean them it looks like a diesel injector calibration equipment- it's name is ASNU - from Australia. You could actually see the gunk falling fron the injectors and also performs back flushing.

When I built the currnent motor we are using I just took my lowest mileage injectors (130k miles or so)..

I have a set with 355k miles and a set of 150k+ miles left (the pics are from the 150k mile set).

I know to clean them correclty they need to be disassembled and cleaned but I didn't bother with my last set. I know I can get them cleaned/checked and rebult locally for $35.

I think I could close this thread, finally fixed the rubber plugs on the upper and lower heater hose coolant ports. Thanks everyone!
