I got into my ex this morning, and didn't really turn up to music too loud, my gf was driving it the past 2 days and had a ****ty cd in, i went to change the cd and when i tried to turn up the volume it sounded like the sub would rattle while it was hitting, I got out and opened the hatch, and it rattles nonstop. The only thing that she supposedly changed was the equalizer setting, and this thing called DSO on the crappy sony head unit i have in it, other than that the only thing i can think of is maybe the box is too big and i might need a port, the box is 1.75 cuft, and the sub is an audiobahn 1206T, that says around 1.25-1.5 sealed is good, ANY help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

sounds blown to me, and audiobahn is known for that sort of crap with little or no provocation. I'm about ready to shoot someone over my blown 6.5 woofers i keep crapping out of my doors, and even with a 24 db per octave x-over set 50 hz above what they are supposed to be ok playing at.

i hope you have a warranty, but if you dont' call them and ask to buy a refurb. with the trade in of the sub you already have. You'll be amazed at how cheap they'll do that for.

thanks for the quick reply and some good advice on trying to get a refurb and little back by sending mine back, sounded awesome til it blew, lol, yea well, you get what u pay for i guess

Just out of curiousity expo, I think you have the abc6002 set right, that has the 4" 6.5" and tweet. How much rms power were/are you giving them?

teh abc6003q set. I power them at about 160 per side per set or 160 by 4 at 4 ohms.

yeah 6003 thats what I meant..... Do they distort at all with that power? I was thinkin about this set.... 6.5"s in doors, 4"s and tweets in kicks...

no, they don't

if you want them get them now, they are almost gone everywhere. I know my distributor has no more.

I have a couple 15"s in my x and i had one start rattling on me... kept getting louder... was bout to junk it, turns out the dust cap came loose and was rattling and vibrating. fixed that and now its good as new. just a thought... cuz it sounded jus like my last sub that blew... jus a different thing was causing it. Good luck

i had 1 15 at the time and the sub started to rattle like it was blown so i was about to light it on fire( i know drew its under warrenty =))...but just before i got the match i talked a friend and he made me just double check all the connections

one of the connections to the sub itself had come losse when i was changing boxs so it was making a rattle/distortion type noise

so lesson there..take the sub out use a high wattage flash light and go over it with a fine tooth comb before junking it =)...or burning it lol
