K so i bought a 1st gen from a gentleman who said it did run... that was a lie lol. said it had a dead #6 hole... that was true and he said when it runs it would pop through the intake and he did not have time to fix it. light bulb came on in that moment (burnt or bent valve) he had mentioned that timing might be off so i tow it home start to look into the no compression problem find the intake push rod was bent like a number 7 lol figured sweet 6 dollar part and its fixed
well i get it back together new push rod and all and i start to crank. i get 2 hard turns the rest were soft like it still had no compression. out of frustration i pull both heads only to find head gasket sealant completely blocking almost all of the water jacket holes and i look at the head gaskets and you can see where gasses were passing between cylinders on both heads so im fairly certain that was my problem so now im waiting on head gaskets right now at this moment from rock auto but im excited to get this running it has a fairly new a4dl in it 30k or so and from what i can see it still has good cross hatching in the walls. so here is my question do these engines like boost? im am not new to turbos and i know its a bit unconventional but 6-8 psi shouldnt be to outrageous but what fuel management do you guys use? FMU? piggy back such as a SAFC? just kinda getting a feeler PS sorry for the big back story
