brake caliper question

I have an 01 Sport, the odd body style that was only shared with the sport trac. I was wondering if the 2000 Explorer has the same brake calipers as the 01 Sport. My calipers are going out and I have a parts truck just sitting in the yard....again I ask, can I swap the calipers or do I have to buy new ones?

I'm pretty sure they are the same. I know some sport tracs had bigger brakes but the 01's still used the torsion bar front end like the previous years ex's. So I would figure it would be the same setup, just the body styling that was different. I'm not 100% though, best to let somone else chime in to be sure.

i'm pretty sure they are the same too but i dont want to get started on it only to find out I got to continue using my crappy ones in the end

Take a look at Rock Auto for the calipers. If you click the highlighted part it usually tells you the year range. Watch the application of parts on there though as they are off a little sometimes. On the other hand their customer service is absolutely top notch.

The calipers are the same front and rear. The sport tracs had bigger rotors, but the caliper is the same.

Well im looking in my caliper book, and it lists 18-4606/18-4607 for front of 1995-2000 ford explorer,
but the 2001-2002 explorer SPORT lists 18-4758/18-4759 for the front? I have two rebuilts in front of me and looking at both they dont look interchangable to me!
