I replaced everything finally yesterday and think I have a small problem. I can't seem to get rid of the grinding noise that to me sounds like the new ceramics getting seated on the new rotor. I was thinking it could also be the e-brakes grinding out new notches on the drum of the rotor hat. Sound goes away (or hits a pitch that I don't care about at about 35). It is really embarrassing driving around with the grinding sound since it is SO distinctive. My only other thought is if the piston was supposed to be rotated into position with a certain tool before replacing the pad. I never had this type of problems with my other cars, and thought it may be Ford specific. Ideas?

Probably the e-brakes. Don't know how different the 05s are,but maybe you can back off the e brakes from the adjustment ports. Sometimes I get sound and I make sure my emergency brake pedal had come up all the way by pulling on it. Jack it up and spin the rear wheel and see how much resistance you get. E-brakes should not be touching.
