The Expedition has the alloy wheels on it (or rubber wheels as I call them) and collects brake dust like crazy. I've tried several different wheel cleaners all bragging that they dissolve brake dust on contact or some crap like that. Might as well use soap & water.

Any tips?

If you coat the wheels really well with a polymer sealant like Klasse or Zaino the brake dust will come off much more easily because it wont bond to the surface of the wheel.

I used liquid glass and a brush takes it right off. They look like I spent forever on them, I can also chime in... polymer wax is the way to go.

you are just masking the real problem, the brake pads.

If you get ceramic or metallic brake pads there will be no more dust.

brake dust = cheapo pads

ceramic pads still give off some dust, the white just doesnt show up as much.

Just get brake dust cover at www.jcwhitney.com . Problem solved! :) But seriously though they aren't half bad at all. More and more I see them on show trucks in chrome color. It might be worth considering. In the same website I also saw some fake crossed-drilled rotors. They come in different sizes: 16" to 18". I never saw one in person yet but I guess it would serve the same purpose as the brake dust cover.

Dust covers are useless in preventing dust away from your wheels?
