What types of brushes/tools are safe to use for removing brake-dust from chrome wheels? I've tried a bunch of different cleaning products and various towels/rags but I really need to get in there and scrub with some type of firm brush because the brake dust and road grime is not budging....

What about some of these options, are they safe to use on chrome?

Griot's Short Handle Boar's Hair Wheel Brush

or

Mother's Wheel Brush

Thanks for your help...

I removed some ceramic brake dust off 03 OEM Honda Civic alloys using straight Simple Green and some dollar store "Scotch Brite style" pads that I had previously used in my kitchen for dishes. These pads are not even close to how aggressive real Scotch Brite pads are.
