After several thousand miles of use, I have to say that Hawk HP pads create a lot more dust than the OEM equivalent replacements that were on my Ex before. I love the stopping performance but being a lover of shiny bright objects, I find myself cleaning my stock "deer hoof" double 5 slot rims several times a week. I know I'm obsessive-compulsive so I asked my less observant buddies. They even noticed the reddish brown dust after one day's 75 mile commute. I polish the wheels with "dust retarding" cleaners and still more dust. I read in forums for S2000s and MX5s that Hawk HP pads do develop more dust than stock. And, sports car guys are really obsessed.

Anyone else wanna comment on brake dust and Hawks or their brand of pads?

use the halk ceramic pads, made for minimal brake dust.

Thanks for the comment, levishake. When I was looking for replacements, I saw the Hawk Performance LTS pads (Light Truck/SUV) which they termed an organic, carbon fiber and ceramic combination. The Power Slot dealer recommended the HPS for the light weight Sport.

Power Slot does consider the LTS pads for fullsize trucks and SUVs that carry loads or are used for towing. It's funny. Their blurb about the HPS is extremely low dust but the LTS is just low dust. Whaaaat!

I'm still not knockin' the performance. Hawks rule in the panic stop.

Anybody ever use EBC Green Stuff pads? As far as performance pads go, I don't hear good things about Satisfied products. Are those nay sayers wrong?

I got ceramic pads from the local advance auto store and brake dust is VERY minimal
