Besides low brake fluid? I have the red brake light on and can't see or feel any problems. I checked the fluid level and it is fine. The emergency brake seems to be ok. Is there any other meanings for this light? Its a 92 EB 4X4> Thanks in advance.

You might have to contorsion under the dash to look at the E-Brake mechanism. It has a little switch on it that makes the "Brake" light illuminate. It may be sticking or fault. Try pushing the E-Brake down real good and releasing it a few times to see if it will unstick the switch. If that does not work, you may have to pull the switch and test it.

Best thing I can think of at this time.

When was the last time you had the brake system flushed and filled with new fluid? If the answer is "never" or "a long time ago" it may just be that the brake fluid has absorbed too much water. Brake fluid is hygroscopic and over time it will absorb a considerable amount of moisture. As it absorbs water, the density of the fluid changes. If it changes too much, the float in the fuel bowl may sink, causing the system to think it's low on fluid, or the pressure sensor may register a lower pressure than is really there. Either one will cause the light to turn on.

If that's not the case, check to make sure the float in the fluid resivoir is not stuck down, and that the sensor wires are hooked up.
