Did you check all wires leading to and from the fuse. You may have a short somewhere, that is causing it to pop. For instance, if somewhere the wire got cut or severed, water or dust could cause this to happen..

Lots of little things could cause this to happen. One time, not thinking, I cut the postive and negative at the same time and the power jumped from the positive to the negative through my side cuts. This caused the fuse to pop. Didn't know it and it left me hours of wondering why my lights wheren't working.

Have you added anything to the circuit that blows the fuse ?

What has happened to the vehicle before the fuse started blowing ?

I am not familiar with the actual fuse, does it hookup to the Brake Lights ?

Have you been in water or mud ?

Any corrosion around the ground for the Brake Lights ?

Just thinking out loud...

blown fuse

:us: Hello,

i have the same problem today, my 4x4 2002 explorer was not working. i took out the control module and replaced it with a used module part #2C54-7H473-BF.I reconnected the battery after 15 minutes when i seen the 4x4 low light on i went to press the brake to shift the gear arm into drive it wouldn't move because the brake fuse was blown. i replaced the fuse and tried again and right away the fuse blew as soon as i put my foot on the brake pedal not knowing whats going on i took all the back light bulbs out and tried again it did the same thing.Right away i disconnected the 4x4 CM and put all the light bulbs back in and a fresh fuse. The car shifted and worked fine now I'm going to buy a 4x4 switch to see if that will work other than that i will have to check the wire from the fuse box all the way to the back lights.if anyone has any idea please advise and i will update everyone what will happen tomorrow after i put the new switch in. For now Yorksmick you could do the same just disconnect the X CM located behind the glove compartment hooked up to the heater blower.:salute:
