There are two sizes of the fittings and two different flares on each end of the steel brake line running from the master cylinder to the front driver's-side brake hose.

What the deal? What are the names of the two flares used and why the different sizes of fittings? I'm looking to get the proper tools to do this but I can't until I understand what I am looking at. Thanks!

I think you will find that the threads are the same on both ends and the diameter of the line is consistent. You can buy a straight line with fittings and already flared at any auto store. Just be careful bending it so as not to crimp it.

Well, I found out my information:

The fitting for the master cylinder is metric and the fitting to the brake hose is SAE. The flare for the master cylinder is a bubble flare and the the flare for the brake hose is a double flare. Found the local brake and clutch shop is pretty cheap and very good at what they do! LOL!!

Thanks all!
