Having a problem with my rear brake lights. Traced it to the brake switch on the brake pedal. Switch will only work when I push on it with my hand and keep it in position while applying the brake. Can these things be adjusted or do they just get replaced??

Thanks

Just replaced. they are pretty cheap. I bought one for a 93 crown vic not too long ago and it was less than ten bucks.

does this mean your brake lights do not light up when you push your brake pedle

Forgive my spelling, there is no spell checker

i have the same problem on 2004 explorer eddie bauer. if i push or pull on brake light switch i can come out of park and brake lights will work. as soon i let go they stop. sometimes they work fine. i finally reached down and disconnected it. all the auto part stores want to sell me a diff one with a wiring harness. i cant follow the original wires so idk where the knew ones would even go. i did find just the switch at an auto stor labeled for a ford and its just like mine. bought it and still have the problem. idk what else to do. if anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated thanks
