Break lights staying on?

My break lights have been staying on after having pushed the pedal.. I keep having to stick my foot under the pedal and pull upwards while driving and its getting old.. I can only imagine what the people behind are thinking.. What needs to be fixed here?

First thing to check is the Brake Pedal Position (BPP) also called the Brake On/Off (BOO) Switch.
