Hello

all i know from the mechanic is that the problem is down there with the catalytic converter....aparently an 02 sensor giving the bad signal.... and then i discovered the leak.... .... catalytic converters are VERY expensive down here in mexico and i refuse to take them off and install a just a pipe instead... (as mech said) Note, there is 4 (four) cats. two small ones in the front and two bigger ones in the pipe after both pipes become one. the crack or leak is right in between the two big ones.

should i take it to scan again before fixing leak and see what the code is or... go straight to fix the leak in the exhaust

Thank you for followin and helpin.

is the pipe cracked or rusted through? or is it leaking through a flange where peices of the exhaust bolt together?

if its just cracked (ive never seen exhaust pipe crack only manifolds) take it to a muffler shop and weld the crack.

if its rusted your going to have to replace the section of exhaust because you will just be putting a bandaid on the problem and constantly have issues with it.

if its leaking through a flange, just get a new gasket and install

Thanks dmac, what is broken is the weld that puts together cat and pipe.... now the main question.... could that be the reason for the "check engine" ight is on????

No Idea Brooklyn, all i know from the mech that the problm comes frome down there something to do with the catalytic....

Ok dmac the crack has been weld.... and the "check engine" code is been deleted so supposedly to be ok, right?! well i don't think it is ok because now i feel like the car hesitates to speed up if i step suddenly on gas pedal! you know like whe want to over take....

Do you think is something to do with all this exhaust situation...?
please advise!!

if it's lagging a little bit, might want to buy some fuel injector cleaner and run for a tank... every so often mine will be sluggish, i run the cleaner, and it goes back to normal.

might help, might not, just a suggestion.

Why not! so...
its gotta be with full thank right?
So what happens if i use injector cleaner with half a thank or so...?! would that be good or bad??
to be honest.... i miss carburetors! old muscle cars and trucks.... oh well, thanks blacksheep, please advice
