Not nearly as ugly as some of the other options it could have come with . like the red interiors , ewwwwww lol

The one I am DDing has a red interior in it..... I want to kill myself. I have a complete tan interior minus the seats, but I think I would prefer the gray interior. If I cannot find anything, I am just going to paint/dye all of my interior.

There's a junkyard near me that has TONS of explorers and two of them are limited editions , one has the grey interior the other the tan. come up and snag some parts! lol

The 1st Gen wasn't Exported....it wasn't until the 96 or so, after they went OBD-II that they were exported, and they had Amber in the Rear Lenses...

Ryan

I gotta admit I thought you would for sure know they had the first gen in germany , it was much sexier too then the us version.

I can't do a drive to wisconsin.... I have 3 kids at home and I am a single parent.... plus it is christmas time....

besides, buying a full interior from a salvage yard gets spendy. Unfortunately, I can never find any parts explorers with good interiors, aside from the eddie bower I just chopped up... but that had cloth seats that I gave to my dad to replace his ripped up leather seats. One of these days though... I gotta find a 1st gen close by (nothing left to tow with other than explorers anymore) with gray interior and cloth buckets. I'll probably just end up dying my interior a dark gray and go with black for the cloth and carpet parts.... replace that crap on the door panel with something else.... That way all I will need is new seatbelts.

I don't suppose either of those limiteds still have their front bumpers?

They both do there actually pretty complete , one actually had a custom paint job I'm surprised it was junked.

That junkyard is super cheap , a pair of seats would be like 100$ or the whole interior would be like 150$.

I have NEVER seen a 1st Gen Export...until just now!!!

wow....I really missed that....Now I know what front end I am going to have on my Lifted `93!!!

Maybe I was just thinking of the Aussie Exports....I don't know.....

I've been talking to a guy in Germany about shipping me the parts needed to swap in those lights. Should I get a price for 2 sets?

pick up some cibie lights from Daniel Stern Lighting.... That will give you better visibility than you could ever get from a 1st gen's lights. Then all you need is the bucket and signal/reflector from the E-spec explorer

I'll look into it, thanks.

As far as the reflectors:
I wont leave them as reflectors. I converted my stock '94 reflectors to accept 194 bulbs and run them as parking lights. It looks sooo much nicer at night. Let me see if I can find a pic.

Anyone interested in a brush guard for a limited?I have one now.I am not selling it but I can get you one.I will try to get pics up soon.

Hey! Watch your tone, I love my leather interior... and it's not red, it's 'Merlot'. ;)

Is it that crazy lookin' thing on the first page? If so... no. lol But if it's something normal looking, I'd like to see some pics for sure! Thank you!

Its normal lol.I had the sides cut by the guy that laser cuts all my metal brackets.I hope to get it finished and pictures in the next week or so.

I have never seen Red or Merlot leather on an ex, but it cant be much worse than that god awful Green interior ford put into the second gens, or even the vics and town cars. I'm sorry but i have never felt the need to color match my interior to the exterior

Naw, it doesn't color match. The exterior of just about every Red Interiored X I've seen has been either Black (like mine) or the occasional tan.

TBH, I hated it when I first bought the X; but within a week of driving it I decided that would never love the interior of any other vehicle quite as much... either it grew on me, or I went insane. :D
