wax? so just apply a coat of wax to it? sorry kinda new to the whole cleaning car thing..my X is never clean

A paint cleaner and polish will work well. Anything that is very mildly abrasive.

Depends on the depth of scraches. If your fingernail gets caught in the scratch odd's are it won't go away with out refinishing. Most scraches will totally go away with some rubbing compound , avail at any auto-parts store. This stuff is rather agressive so be careful to do the scratched area , and don't rub down too far.

Zymol

Try Zymol! I used it for the first time today and I fell in love with this stuff!!!! Wish I had tried it earlier when I first got my X. I as well had some swirl marks that I really wanted to get rid off.....Zymol pretty much removed all of them and my X has never shined better. Easy to apply and very easy to remove. I highly recommend this stuff!!

where does one find zymol? sorry dunno what it is

I have found it at Wal-Mart,, Target, or any of the regular auto stores like Autozone, Advance Auto, Pep Boys, etc.

i havent tried this because my X is white and scratches dont show up very well...but a friend of mine uses pledge to buff out the scratches in his car. His car is black and the pledge covers up the scratches farely well.

for some reason that just doesnt sound good for the paint.

not trying to be a smart ass aqexplorer

lol, it hasnt caused any problems with his paint yet.

ive used it on my bike also, and it hasnt caused any problems there either.

To get rid of your scratches, your going to need a orbital polisher. I recommend the Porter Cable 7336sp, as it is exactly the same polisher that meguiars sells, but the PC is $115 less at Lowes. It costs $109 at Lowes. Anyway, buy meguiars hook and loop backing plate($19) and some of their 6.5" pads ($8-12 each) at any auto paint supply store. Try either 3M Finesse It II polish, or Meguiars mirror glaze fine cut. Put the product on the pad press the pad to the paint, turn the speed dial to three, and turn it on. Spread it out at this speed then crank the speed to 6 and work all the abrasives into the clear coat. Keep lightening the pressure until all you see is a high gloss paint.

will doing that even cover up the places that are scratched so bad that they are white?

yes and no. If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, the only thing that's going to fix it is refinishing. Some may be able to be taken out with a rotary buffer, but leave it to the pros, as you can easily burn a hole in your paint with those things. If you can't feel the scratch, then yes they will buff out, as they are scratches in the clearcoat.
