Bug shield damage

When I got my '93 Ex Eddie it had a Bug shield on it and I neglected to put in little stoppers to keep it from doing anymore damage.

Well I know wish to remove the bug shield but on the edge were the slopes down there is some bad paint damge, deep scratches and even some chipped paint and the paint in some spots just looks bad.

What I was wondreing is can I just touch up this area and have it look somewhat decent?

By touch up I mean just paint the area that is damaged.

Touching up an area like that wont be pretty.
for the best results your best bet is to repaint the hood.

I had a feeling I would need to repaint the hood.

Is there a instruction guide somewhere on this site to painting a hood or someother part of an Ex. I am not sure on how to paint cars but I do know that it is possible for a regular joe.

I do body work, I can get ya through that and the prep.
seacrch for my thread Body Work 101
Glaicer hangs out here and he has done his share of painting he canget ya the rest of the way
