Building Sub Box for 2 12's

Me and my friend have embarked on a new journey, buidling a sub box. The box he has now is fine but it hides his beatiful audiobahn amp and faces straight back. At frist we decided that angeling the subs so they pionted at the window would be best for sound and such. But without the use table saw and other necessary tools we failed. This was friday night. So today we decided to try something different. We decided to just make the subs so they pointed straight up and put the amp in the middle on a little shelf so it can be shown off. We have not come very far at all but a trip to home depot to make some cuts on the 3/4 mdf board helped us get all the peices cut out tonite. I will post pics tommarrow since he is coming over and we are hoping on finisheing it all but the carpeting. I've seen many of your guys' custom boxes and have day dreamed of making one just as custom, but this being our first sub box project (and realizing how hard it actually was after totally screwing up friday night) we decided to go with something simple but also a little custom. Ill make sure to post pics for you guys tom.

Ok here they are. After some hard work it is finally done except for the carpeting and the custom amp shelf. The first pic is of the old box without one of the subs. The last pic is the completed project uncarpeted. The amp is now sitting behind it. The guy in the backround is my friend joey and thats his exp. but next year those subs will be going in my exp. In the future we plan on adding a plexiglass front and putting a custom amp shelf in the middle with neons for show of course. Let me know what you think.

good job on the box! i love building my own, gives a real since of accomplishment. just i little tips of advice to avoid those little mistakes: measure everything twice, and write it down and then measure again before you cut, it sounds tedious but its worth it i know from expereince your pieces will fit together very smoothly if you take your time and plan it all out before you even touch a saw. another thing is to round the edges a little bit with a router it makes the carpeting alot easier. other than that good job and good luck! its fun to build your own boxes and you can build some really custom setups if you just take your time and plan it out.
