How do I Know how much weight i can pull on a bumper hitch? I have a 14 ft fishing boat I would like to tow behind my truck but i dont know how much weight a bumper hitch can handle.

thanks. I'll check it out. That should be more than enough to tow my boat, its about 2300 lbs total.

I don't see anythin on the bumper of my truck that says a Class or anything at all for that matter. I tried looking online and was unsuccessful too.

Current load

I am towing a boat at 2,800 with the bumper hitch, I might change to a tow bar this year. The main thing on this is if the bumper has been compromised (hit) or is rusted. Also, take a look at tounge weight. Mine is roughly 100lbs, which is pretty light for the boat, meaning the boat is well balanced on the trailer. The reason I am thinking of going to a tow bar is better turning radius and smooth travel.

alright, maybe I will just do that as well. The tow bars are about $150 or so right?
