After doing my own personal research by asking around, going to shops, getting prices, i want to see what everyone has done on their 4th Gens. What is it im looking for? First off i don't want a bull guard, brush guard, or any thing of the sort. I want a full STEEL bumper replacement bolted directly to the frame (REAR and FRONT.) To answer the question of why, i start off with being rearended sucks. There are no tow points on the front of a 4th gen, no place for additional lighting, and no easy way to mount a winch. Yes i understand that a full bumper replacement can weigh around 300+lbs, so yes my explorer would weigh in at 6-700+ more pounds than factory. I am not concerned with weight, i am concerned with strenght and getting rid of the cheapo look of plastic bumpers.
