Bumpers: Is the '99 XLT Interchangeable w/ the '97 XLT???

I know the air dams and fog lights are different, but is the actual chrome bumper the same???

Yes its the same. I bolted on a 99-01 sport one. but i couldnt get those chrome surrounds because i got a sport one and those just come plain. Its an easy bolt on swap. Check Bumper.com for more info.

Just to confirm - A '99 XLT bumper cover and air dam (with round fog lamps) will bolt right on a '97 bumper without any mods???

NO it will not....a bumper cover will not cover the 97 bumper. you must remove the entire old bumper off the frame. then get an entire new 99+ bumper...not just the cover. I got my 99+ for $350 from www.bumpers.com. You must order the "dressed" bumper so it includes the bumper support and mounting. just the bumper cover will not work.

ah the cover has a piece that goes behind it, you will need both in order for it to work. expect to pay 350
