My A/C was working fine last Friday, as in really ice cold. Then on Saturday the burning smell started in the engine bay along with a bad noise when the A/C is turned on. The cooling is reduced to almost nothing now. Does this sound like the bearings going bad on the compressor? I get a Ford employee discount on parts and labor so I need to know if the compressor needs to be replaced or if it's something else.
It's July in North Texas so not having A/C is NOT an option.
