What is the best way to replace this hose? I heard it being called the hose from hell. Some information that I managed to grab from the net is to:
1. boil the hose to make more flexible.
2. cut the hose to make it a little bit smaller.
3. shave the hose at the inner ends to make fit better.
4. cut half an inch from the pipe above.
5. Oil the hose to make it slippery

On my 2000 5.0 I sprayed some WD40 inside the hose to make it slip on easier.

It went right on with no issues.

a little hand cleaner, dish soap or hand soap will make it easier to slip on. if it's really cold out, soaking it in some hot water wouldn't hurt. I don't suggest you cut it in any way. when I replaced the one on one of my 2000 V8's it wasn't that difficult to get the bypass hose on and it was cold out.

That's one of the easier hoses. I think the hose from hell is the short one from the oil cooler to the water pump :O
