Ok I want to bypass my ac compressor and get a smaller belt, will this mess up things if the compressor is not turning? I'm going to eventually take all the ac stuff out but till I have more time and someone who wants to buy it I was just going to leave it in , but dont want to if it will f@ck it up, and yes the ac is cold and the compressor is new last year, just looking to get some more power . thanks, mike:confused:

No, but you'll be sweating when it gets warmer....

Well just put the new belt on and put a new thermostat in and got rid of my airbox and put a k/n filter on this weekend, runs alot cooler and seems to get alittle more umph. I'll try to get some picts of the cold air setup, right now my mas is bolted directly to the filter and sealed with rtv. later:D

oh ya when it gets warmer, I have the "5-60" airconditioner. 5 windows and 60mph.

What size belt did you use mike?

just went to autozone and got one made for a 4.0 without a/c. which is now for sale if there is any takers.:D

no ac belt

Do you have to take all the compressor and everything off for that belt to work?

nope. still have everything hooked up just not turning it on or routed to the ac compressor, the belt was like 11 bucks, so I just threw my old , bigger one in the back for a spare. I also made my own cold air intake too this weekend for a grand total of 25 bucks, soon as i get some pictures i will post them.

Can you really notice the difference, did you unplug the compressor?

well between the a/c gone, bosch 4 plugs and the airbox being gone, not to mention the muffler gone also, she sounds mean as hell, it is not too loud though, i'm still running the 3.27 gears so very sluggish off the line with the big tires, but once my 4.56's get in should kick some major arse!!!! does really well in 4-low.:D

Yeah i have 7 inches of lift with 3.27s and 33s but mine is a five speed and my motor is out of a 96 ranger with 60000 still a little fresh, and I've got the 40 series flowmaster kicked out into duals, with no cats.It doesnt do that bad,but going up to at least a 3.73
