The VERY FIRST hit off of a google search "Ford 8.8 c-clip eliminator" says it's for drums only. There were a few others that came up, but I didn't look at all of them to price shop for you.
The Super 88 8.8 c-clip / full floater kit works on the Explorers, but they don't work on the drum brake ones. I looked into them a while ago.. I'm not even sure if they still make them (full floater kit).
It was definatly confusing trying to figure out what worked on what.. Also, the super 88 was the only kit I found that said you could use it off-road. All the others said not to use them due to side load issues.
Have you broken that many 8.8 shafts that you want a c-clip eliminator? You might be better off getting a stronger rear axle like a D60 if you are snapping 8.8 shafts...
The sucky thing about the Super 88 kit, is that if you do happen to bust a shaft, you can't use stock shafts to replace it...
