Hey how are you all doing? My name is Rob aka "crashwave" and anyway, I am a recent owner of a black '99 Ford Explorer Sport! I'm single and so I don't need a four door SUV...and it's got 4 wheel drive so that's all I need and want!

Anyway, I'm curious as to any really good offroading places in New Jersey - I know our state is NOT the best for this, but I also realize that there ARE some very good spots - I'm located in central Jersey, more specifically Ocean County, and I KNOW some of you out there have got to know some spots.

I'm not looking for anything hardcore, just generally good sand/mud/dirt trails, etc.

Let me know!

Here's a pic from the last time I took it offroad, sorry for the size!

Its nice to see yet another person from NJ the list seems to grow everyday. I know of a few places you can go in NJ the only problem is either theyre illegal or theyre so overused there is no point i going if you dont have something over 38s

Also here in North Jersey Bergen county

Not an X owner, but in NJ nonetheless. There is really no plases to go, except a few pits down by the shore, but that mud will tear you truck apart. There's the pine barrons, I'm pretty sure it's all right back there, a lot of water, nothing challenging. We all find ourselves in the same predicament as far as legal places go, there is a trip out to Paragon Adventure Park for August 24th, a bunch of Ex's are going, the park is located in Hazelton PA. Nice place, varrying terrain. Check out the thread in the club runs section.

Thanks a lot. I'll definitely give it a look.

This is why

I am more or less gearing my new X for street (02 sport).
When I had my 95xlt, buddies and I thought it was a good idea to go off roading in a old mine quiry (think it was off of rt 38) that was not in use too my knowledge. We were having a blast til we started to leave... then we see a cop car pulls around and stops all three of us as we were getting back on the road. He gave us a break thankfully.

NJ RANT:

Gotta love NJ and the great auto insurance prices ;)

My friend owns wrangler in nj, the insurance price is almost that of a mustang gt.

I my self pay close to 2000 year (clean record) for a 2002 sport. My 95 xlt was 1600. I am really sick of this state and the insurance prices.

Where exactly in Englishtown? I'll make a trip there! It's about ~1hr from my house.
