Gday all, I just spoke to a ford dealership about replacing the front Cam chain tensioner on the 4.0 SOHC, they guy asked me why I was not doing the rear at the same time, I replied “don’t you need to pull the motor to do that”, He said “NO only if you want to do the chains and guides as well we can replace both front and rear cam tensioners and manifold O rings seals for $750AUS”.
Now I was all ready to do it myself as I was expecting a change of $1000 to do the front only but for $750 for both the hell with it they can do it and at least then I get warranty on the parts/ Job.
Has this always been the case that you can do the tensioners Front and rear; I thought you could only do the front with the engine in the car.
I felt like a bit of a dick as when he tried telling me that I could do them both with the engine in the car I all but shut him down over it
