Also, does anyone know any easier trails near Los Angeles. Mine is pretty much stock.

Years ago, the OEM manufacture of the SOHC engine was offering a more aggressive cam for the 4.0 but I'm not sure if they are still offering this option. $750 for two cams seems like a lot of money to me. Then you're talking about getting a tune, exhaust, valves, valve springs, and followers to keep everything from blowing up when you get on it.

Edit: From what I've heard all trails in the Los Angeles, and Central Valley are closed due to the fires...

its already got a tune... it wouldnt hold up long without the other things mentioned? Also, can the sohc oil pump be replaced with engine in? im concerned it may go out eventually... hopefully not but. and im pretty sure the OE oil gauge is an idiot light. it dont move at all. is there a way to fix that?

If you know exactly what you want, OEM cams can be welded/grinded by certain machine shops to match the specs you desire, if no suitable aftermarket options are available. This might not be the cheapest option, also i am not sure how common this is in U.S.

I'd make a call to machine shop(s).
