I have a cam sensor squeak on an '03 windstar. does anybody know what the part that drives the cam sensor is called (the part that goes where the distributor would be, with the bearings, cam driven gear, etc)???

...Do a title search on here for "squeak" or "chirp" while you are waiting..;)

Searching.. well thats no fun. but in this time of loss, i have found by searching that the part i'm looking for is apparently called the "CMP synch drive shaft"

now if i could only figure out where the hell to get one, google revealed nothing.

Rhauf, you can get the synchro shaft at just about any parts
store, and at RockAuto dot com. However....these will be Dorman
branded parts, and there have been problems with those in the past.
I'd recommend getting the synchro shaft from the Ford dealer; it's
a brand new Motorcraft part that will last a long time. The cost will
be about $140, but it's worth the price difference in not having to
do the job again anytime soon.....
