CAMPING and 'Wheeling in the Boonies of Vermont!

his front hub 'asploded...it was making funny noises, so he stopped and looked at it, but he put the tire back on, and we did the hardest trail of the weekend, and as soon as we got off and onto the main road he gets me on the CB and was like "stuff's falling off my truck" and i saw his front wheel kinked off to the side like that, so we pulled into a ghettomobil station and saw his wheel. we picked up about 10 bearings from around the parking lot and im sure there were a bunch on the road.

I nominate Isaac for the "Most likely to bust something" while wheeling award. So where did Isaac have his rig towed?

Ike broke his X because i was not there to caution him. Looks like I missed alot of fun. Well I found out on saturday that my aunt died, so I had to go to a funeral on sunday. I swear everytime u guys wanna get together a family member of mine dies. Geez you guys are bad luck.

Matt, i'm real sorry to hear that...from now on, we won't ever plan a run.

John- he had it towed to a ford dealer up the road., and Tim and I were commenting on how he doesnt care what he goes through and Tim callled him the Fred of this run

Mike,
The Ford dealer, was that back in White River Junction? That place is like 200 yards from my condo. Looks like you guys had a good time anyways, hopefully next time I'll have more time and will be able to get out there...

1) The spooky window. Mike, as you can see it didn't come out. When we got to the cabin, we turned a blue-ish lamp on inside, and since it was so dark and foggy out, the light came out the windows and it looked straight out of "Worlds Scariest Places on Earth".

2) Mmm fire...

3) The kindling... yes, the yankees still suck :p

Wow, what fun! :) Brian, I know the dealership you're talking about; Saera's uncle is a senior salesman at Gateway Motors. I had my truck towed to Ted Green Ford in Stockbridge. It's one of the original Ford dealers in the state (ask Tim - it LOOKS it) and they're still very popular with locals, so I'm sure they do something right. Except for leaving all the vehicles on the lot unlocked....

I'll try and take a pic of the roller bearings I salvaged soon. Unfortunately we didn't get a pic of the smoke billowing out from under the spindle. Tim, when you find the number of the guy at work with the SS and info on it, send it to me, please.

The hike itself was interesting to say the least, but still rewarding. I still blame my friend from Oklahoma for wimping out when we originally scouted the trail the Saturday before. Seems she wasn't used to hills. We were in front of the uphill part not even a quarter mile from the cabin when she wanted to turn back. Come time for the real hike, and we took the wrong right turn as it got dark. Props to Tim's mom for making sure he packed batteries and lanterns. :) After all, how often can you camp on the Appalachian Trail on a dreary rainy night...in a sealed cabin...chatting online on the cell phone....watching Monsters, Inc. on the little TV? That's what's known as luxury in Vermont, I guess. Unfortunately, I'm considering not wheeling the explorer for a WHILE after this incident. Not until I have a completely restored front end (like that's gonna happen) will I want to really take it off-roading. Now I wait for a "double-your-trade-in" deal to pop up. Maybe when the '06 models arrive in 11-1/2 months.

Yeah, Ike must have chatted with me for twenty minutes on Saturday night. He even told me how steep the trails had been and I told him that I'm glad I didn't come because my knees would have given out by then.

The scenery is so beautiful and I'm glad you guys had a great time.

Ike, I'm so sorry to hear about your truck, hope it's fixed soon :)

Look I found my pictures from the trip! LMAO Sorry Ike I ahd to take a cheap shot at you.
