I have a 96 5.0 Explorer that I would like to get a little more power out of. My question is will a camshaft from a 95 5.0 Mustang work in the Explorer without having to do a lot of modifications? About how much more power could I expect? I do plan on doing the TMH's at the same time. The Mustang is complete so I would have any part I would need from it if it is needed.

Would it fit? yes, how well it would work, not sure. The explorers had the gt-40P heads on them I don't think the 95 mustang had them. I am not sure why you would want to install a used cam, especically if you are going to go through all the work to install it anyways. You'd hate to instal the mustang cam and be dissapointed with the performance. Your best bet would be to gather all the cam specs for both cams, the mustang and explorer and compare them to see just how different they are. There is probably someone in here that could tell you the pros and cons to each camshaft. You could even talk to some cam manufacturers to see what they say.

The search feature is your best friend. 5.0 cams have been discussed plenty of times. No need for rehashing the same thing all over again.
