Ok, so I have a 2003 Explorer 4.0. Shortly after i got the truck with 80000 miles I began to hear the dreaded 2800 RPM Rattle. So for a while I was believing I have the timing chain problem. But I always wondered why it went away after I drove for 20 min or so. I did all the usual listen to the engine and heard nothing, all i can hear is ticking and clicking from underneath the drivers door where the cats are. But anyway today I decided to rev it up to 3000 in park, and noticed that same rattle came but just alot quieter and a slight more rpms, could anyone point me in a direction, loose parts, torque converter?
